Here we are going to install a new driver package for a built-in digital camera device. It is essential to note that there is a difference between a driver package and a driver file. A driver package is a collection of files that includes the actual driver code, the dependant files (DLLs), and other files that are required by the driver to properly install on the system.
For a driver to be installed on a Windows computer, it has to be signed and digitally validated. Before you download and install any driver from the internet, it is important to understand the driver signature process. There are two ways to digitally sign a driver package. One is a self-signed driver, where the signing certificate used is generated by the driver developer itself. The other is a signed driver, in which the certificate is digitally signed by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).
We are going to install a new driver package and keep the original driver package. If you are unfamiliar with the process of digitally signing a driver package, refer to the steps mentioned below.
It is important to mention here that the self-signed drivers are usually unusable. The drivers are also be unverified which means that the developer can freely add/remove features and the driver does not need to be signed by a trusted CA. The self-signed drivers often contain harmful components and should be avoided.
First, we need to know the device manufacturer and model. This is important because we need to identify which device driver package to download. You can find this information on the back of the device.
In this example, we are going to install a driver for a built-in digital camera device. You can identify the manufacturer and model of the device by navigating through the Start Menu and clicking on the tablet's manufacturer in the search bar.

As mentioned above, the physical keyboard attached to the laptop or desktop is not detected. This issue is mostly seen with the models which have 4 USB ports. A common cause for this is the missing/corrupted drivers of one of the USB ports on the laptop or desktop. With the below steps, we will be able to replace the missing/corrupted drivers with a new one manually. Do note that the steps in this article should only be performed when you have the exact issue with your devices. 827ec27edc
