Audemars Piguet presents two new Royal Oak Automatic Flying Tourbillon models with dimpled dials.
Product launches in the watch world generally take the form of brands presenting their new models to watch enthusiasts during a specific period. In recent years, the decline in popularity of physical exhibition organizations has changed the habit of running such promotions at the same time. The course of the epidemic and the development of online product promotion opportunities also allow brands to release their own innovations independently of a certain platform. On the other hand, some names prefer to introduce their new models after sharing teasers on social media.
Two important but quietly introduced novelties in the industry come from Audemars Piguet, one of the cornerstones of the industry's legendary quartet. The well-known brand has added two new models to the Royal Oak Automatic Flying Tourbillon collection.
The new model features a 41mm diameter and 10.6mm high case. The case is available in 18K white and rose gold and features a classic octagonal bezel on the front with AP's brushed finish. The case front and back feature sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and is water resistant to 50 meters.
The main innovation of the new additions to the collection stands out on the dial. The tapisserie-style dial is almost identical to the AP, replaced by a round brushed dial with a dimpled pattern. The 18K white gold model has a classic AP blue dial, while the 18K rose gold model has a chocolate brown dial. The dial, never seen before on AP, also features baton hands and indexes from the model series symbol detail. The pleasing flying tourbillon escapement is located at 6 o'clock.
Caliber 2950 breathes life into the new model. The automatic movement with flying tourbillon beats at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and provides a reserve time of up to 65 hours when fully wound.
Both models come with a gold bracelet crafted according to the case material. Although unlimited, we expect these models to be produced in very small numbers.
